COSMOSMotion by SolidWorks Corporation is a 3D mechanism simulation tool that enables engineers to analyze the kinematics and dynamics of assemblies directly within the SolidWorks environment. It uses existing mates and mass properties to build accurate motion models that predict positions, velocities, accelerations, forces, and torques. Users can add motors, actuators, springs, dampers, gravity, and friction; define contact between components; and run time-based studies to evaluate performance across full operating cycles. COSMOSMotion produces plots, animations, and reports, and can trace paths and check clearances to prevent interference. Calculated loads can be transferred to structural analysis in COSMOSWorks/SolidWorks Simulation to assess stresses and durability under real operating conditions. By integrating motion analysis with parametric CAD, COSMOSMotion helps reduce physical prototypes, size motors and gearboxes, optimize mechanisms, and shorten design cycles.
COSMOSMotion is developed by SolidWorks Corp.. The most popular version of this product among our users is 14.4. The name of the program executable file is sldworks.exe. Works with drw, prt, asm, sldasm, sldprt and slddrw file types.
